William W. Hanlon

Will Hanlon was born in Tampa, Florida, January 12, 1965. He is a member of the Family Law section of the Hillsborough County Bar, and the Family Law section of the Florida Bar.

He received his bachelor of science from the University of Florida in 1988, and his juris doctorate from St. Thomas University School of Law in 1993. He was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1994. He was also admitted to the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida and U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit in 1997. After attending law school he accepted a position at the Hillsborough County Public Defender’s Office between 1994 and 1997. He represented defendants in juvenile, county(misdemeanor), and circuit (felony) courts.

He has acted as lead defense counsel in over 40 jury trials. He also attended the the Prosecutor/Public Defender Trial Program at the University of Florida School of Law in 1995, and the Criminal Trial Practice Institute at Mercer Law School in 1996. He holds memberships in the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; American College of Barristers (Senior Counsel Member). He has lectured on the 4th amendment at the University of South Florida.
